Dr. Olowogbon, Toyin Samuel is a distinguished agricultural economist. OLOWOGBON, Toyin holds a Bachelors degree in Agriculture, Masters and Ph. D. Degrees in Agricultural Economics all from the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria. He also holds a professional postgraduate diploma in teaching in higher education from University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria; with a Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Management from the Nigerian Institute of Safety professional. Dr. Olowogbon expresses his passion in the area of agri-preneurship and evidenced based policy making and advocacy. He has over 12years experience in the area of agricultural business incubation and management.
Toyin Olowogbon's passion is in helping people and agri-businesses discover and grow their potential in the area of agri-preneurship, he has successfully done this for over 12 years. He is also passionate at developing frugal innovations at helping smallholder farmers build resilience and adaptation to climate change. He has ample hands-on-experience in experimental economics designing and analyzing impact evaluations with bias for agricultural, rural development, development economics and social protection interventions. He is consultant to a number of organizations including African Agribusiness Alliance, National Centre for Hydropower Research and Development, Blessmath Agri-Enterprise, Mcgeorge Consulting Ltd., AgroNigeria, Africe Farms Ltd., among others. As co-founder and Lead Consultant of Wonderworld Agri-Centre, he is energized by his quest in agricultural enterprise management to keep inspiring agri-preneurs to lead African agricultural revolution to success. He is an author and practicing consultant in the area of Agricultural Enterprise Management, Farm Safety/Agricultural Health, and Climate Change Resilience among others.
He is also the Secretary to the Board of Trustees of the Centre for Sustainable Agricultural Empowerment (CSAE) and a Consultant to the Organization. He is a member of many professional organizations including the African Association of Agricultural Economists, the International Society of Agricultural Safety and Health (ISASH), Young African Researchers in Agriculture (YARA) and Young Platform for Agricultural Research and Development (YPARD). He has published widely in local and international academic outlets. He has served as Principal Investigator to a number of funded projects including the study that generated a research output of an agricultural health game board for agricultural health literacy in Nigeria. He is also a referee to a number of reputable journals including World Development Journal, the International Journal of Development Issues, Journal of Agricultural Safety and Health among others. He is a 2019 Winner, Young African Innovators (West Africa) Award by RUFORUM, a 2019 Winner, YALI Alumni Innovative Fund (YAIF) by USAID and a 2020 Young African Researchers in Agriculture Grant Awardee. Outside business, Dr. Toyin Olowogbon is a loving husband, father and he likes computing and engaging in family activities.
